  Scammer ask you to take part in a survey using this as a cover they can then get hold of your details. They may even offer to sell you something that you really don't need. Maybe add a bit of a sob story to tug at you heart strings and make you feel as though you are helping. Don't be fooled. If they are genuine they should have some sort of ID from the company doing the survey.

Deception scam
They call out of the blue saying they are in the area they could have left over materials and would you like to have you drive asphelted could be one. They could also say we can see from the road you've a tile loose if we can access you loft we can see how big a job this could be they then show you pictures or even a video of the area you can easily access, in some cases they have been known to empty a bottle of water and say you have a leak that needs fixing immediately before more damage happens and the job price could be even more! They will more than likley be insistent you pay cash, they will even as a good will gesture drive you to the bank.

If you feel presured try to get a neigbour or friend to help you have the confidence to be firm and say no.

Following as door step scam report it to citizens advice. If you have had the work done after being coerce report it to action fraud, trading standards, friends neighbours and relatived. You are not silly or stupid to have fallen victim just tell someone please.
