Scam phone call13 September 2023 - by AdminScam phone callToday I recieved a call from +44 203813 0295 they said it was O2 calling my number as they wanted to offer me a 40% reduction in my air time. I at the time thought OK I'll carry on with the call the only information they had was my phone number. The caller had a strong asian accent and was calling from somesort of call centre as I could hear chatter in the background. I let the caller waffle on for a bout 5 minutes saying what a good deal this was all I had to do was tell them the code I had been sent from O2. There we two one was a securtiy warning telling me if some calls and asks for the security code please end the call because they dont work for O2. The second text which arrived at the same time said NEVER share this code. When the text came in I said to the caller hang on a mo while I read the text. She then proceed to try to get the code from me saying I need to give it to her so she could then apply the discount. She then became very assertive saying I need to hurry up and give her to code. I knew it was a scam as when I just said well if you have just sent me a text message you should know the code she carried on trying for me to give the code over to her. I then did a goole search and found the article below. DO NOT give this code to anyone as it can be used to change your password order a new phone and rack up hugh bills.
If you fall victim to this type of scam report it to you phone operator or action fraud.
