A number of people have reported doorstep cold callers knocking on their doors and saying there looks to be loose roof tiles or your chimney looks unstable and could fall down injure people and did their insurance cover them for a claim which they claim most insurance policies would not cover and claims could mount to millions. The roof or chimney does not need any work which they will also claim can do for you. If you're unsure call a local builder who will be able to tell you if true or not.

Another call call is telemarketing scamming team asking if you have solar panels if yes you could be able to get a government funded grant for a free survey which will involve a house call from them telling you you have problems with your system which could cost a fortune. Usually telling you you have a problem with the inverter which is normally in the attic and you cant see it they will tell you it needs replacing as there is a fault. If you have a problem with your solar panels call a local company.
