Amazon impersonators

Have you been contacted by Amazon asking you to confirm details of a purchase you have not made. Chances are this is a scam.
There are a few ways this scam works first is the refund for this unauthozised buy. The scammers then accidently transfer more than the orginal amount, they then ask you to return the difference. What really happens is the scammers make it look like they have transfered more making it look like you were refunded more. The money they get you to transfer back to them is your money and not an over payment once you send this to them it's their money and no longer yours. Another versio is you are told hackers have got access to your account and the only way forward is for you to buy gift cards and share the the gift cards PIN again once you have shared the PIN with the impersonator money is theirs.

Ways to avoid this scam is don't call an unknown number if you want to call Amazon use the website to find their number if you can.
Don't buy gift cards and share the PIN with anyone if you are asked to buy things which arn't gifts then is more than likley a scam.
Don't give remote access to anyone you are not expecting a call from remember once a hacker has access to your computer this gives scammers easy access to your personal and financial information ie banking details like passwords may be stored by your browser.

Don't forget if you get one of these calls report it.
