Sainsbury's Nectar Card Scam Alert
. Fraudsters are stealing Nectar points without needing the physical card. Victims have discovered unauthorized transactions and significant point deductions from their accounts . How the Scam Works: 1. Unauthorized Transactions: Scammers use stolen Nectar card details to make purchases or redeem points without the cardholder's knowledge. 2. No Physical Card Required: Unlike bank cards, Nectar cards lack chip technology and secondary authentication, making them easier targets. Secret Groups Trading Data: Criminals are selling stolen Nectar card balances through secure messaging channels 3.
Protect Yourself: * Monitor Your Account: Regularly check your Nectar account for any unauthorized transactions. * Report Suspicious Activity: Immediately report any suspicious activity to Sainsbury's customer service. * Enhance Security: Consider using additional security measures, such as setting up account alerts. Stay vigilant and protect your hard-earned points! I only checked my account as I had been logged out of the app. On checking I noticed my points were not as high as I had thought. So I looked through the transactions and found two which were not me or my wife as they were over a hundred miles away and we certainly had not been away. I reported directly to Sainsburys who were very good. So check your account regularly.
